When the Mayflower Pilgrims were planning their voyage from Southampton in 1620, the widow Joan Ghost was living on Bugle Street, running an un-licenced tippling house, taking in lodgers and selling bread, butter, cheese, pease and apples outside the town markets. Join her at the house where she lived, one of Southampton's finest remaining Tudor private homes, where she will reminisce about her life in Southampton, her husband William a mariner who had sailed to the Newfoundland, her neighbour the Earl of Southampton, seeing Shakespeare perform at the Guildhall and hear the gossip about the Alden family and their son John, gone to join the pilgrims
