at the Church of St Mary Brookfield, Dartmouth Park Hill, NW5 1SL
Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5 in E minor
Puccini Preludio Sinfonico
Puccini Operatic excerpts from La Bohème
Oliver Tills - Conductor
Tina Bowles - Leader
Natalie Millet - Soprano
Rudy Ruiz-Velasco - Tenor
The Spring concert sees London Medical Orchestra perform some of the most moving orchestral music written at the end of the 19th century.
From its soft dark opening, through a contemplative second movement and graceful waltz, to a triumphant finale, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 is an epic journey full of wildly vivid orchestral moments and unforgettable tunes.
Before the interval we feature two works by Giacomo Puccini 'the greatest composer of Italian opera after Verdi.' His Preludio Sinfonico (1882) is rarely heard, yet clearly shows how Puccini's elegant gift for melody was refined even as a student.
The adorable love duet from La Bohème introduces Mimì and Rodolfo, one of opera's most beloved romances with soprano Natalie Millet and tenor Rudy Ruiz-Velasco singing these timeless roles.
We hope you can join us for what will surely be a poignant and heart-warming evening!
Refreshments will be served in the interval.
We recommend reserving your tickets in advance.
Profits from the evening will be donated to Second Sight, providing a long-term solution for curing blindnessproviding in India's poorest state of Bihar.
