Description

Featuring :-

Part Chimp

Towering, joyful riffs and a glorious unmatched, obese tone, Part Chimp played their first show in 2000. After a number of seminal releases, the band split back in 2011, but then more recently reformed, released a split with Torche and most recently, Cheap Thriller. This year they will headline Doomlines - get ready for a full-body live experience like you just stuffed your face with edibles and stood inside a tornado.

Boss Keloid

Boss Keloid (Holy Roar Records) inhabit their own musical world - sumptuous, inventive, herb-drenched sounds that makes you stop, listen, think and mosh. We booked these guys to play Doomlines II but they had to pull out at the last minute, so we're glad to finally make it happen again for 2020. Only the best vibes from these guys and their instruments.

Bismuth

Without doubt one of the world's heaviest bands - a sheer force of nature. Bleak and harrowing soundscapes underpin Tanya's angelic then banshee-like vocals. Songs of the decay of the natural world, Bismuth define heavy in every sense of the word. They're performing at Roadburn this year but you can catch them at Doomlines too.

JUPITERIAN

All the way from São Paulo, Brazil, this shrouded, sinister band released one of 2017's best metal albums in Terraforming (Transcending Obscurity Records). Mysterious, tectonic, blackened funeral doom of the highest order, we are truly honoured to bring Jupiterian to Sheffield. Words don't do their music justice - hit the link below.

Vinnum Sabbathi

Vinnum Sabbathi will be welcomed back in 2020, having played for us at Doomlines III and stunned the crowd in the process. Stellar instrumental stoner with space-themed samples overlaid, these four dudes from Mexico are a unique voice in a scene overrun with Sabbath imitators. Their new album, of Dimensions & Theories releases on March 27th...

Kurokuma

We thought it was also time to bring Kurokuma back to our summertime festival, the trio who never fail to urge the crowd into sweaty movement with a visceral, primal approach to sludge. Having released an EP last year on legendary Sheffield label, Off Me Nut and a split with Under (Astral Noize Records), 2020 sees them finally ready to record their debut album.

AWOOGA

A three-piece with a shimmering, immersive sound reminiscent of 90s bands such as Tool and Alice In Chains, Awooga bring a different edge to the lineup this year. These guys are able to shift nimbly between huge melodic choruses and slamming slabs of doom - another band that Sheffield can be very proud of.

Live Burial

Disgusting, shrieking, old-school death metal from the crypt, Live Burial have made a name for themselves on the UK underground circuit over the last few years, but with their new album, Unending Futility about to drop on Transcending Obscurity, now is the time for these boys to really show what they're made of. Fans of Death, Obituary, Autopsy et al. will not be disappointed with their rotten live show.

Under

A firm Holy Spider favourite, Under combine elements of the craziest heavy bands of our times - we're talking Mr. Bungle, Melvins, Dillinger Escape Plan and Swans. Virtuoso playing and three part harmonies complete the deal. One of the UK's best kept musical secrets...

Wallowing

It's been great to see this Brighton-based collective on their recent meteoric ascent, powered by the undeniable force of their debut album, Planet Loss (Sludgelord Records). This is scathing sludge with elements of grindcore and noise, and with their cosmic concepts, you'll all truly be getting your fill of space-based metal destruction.

Hidden Mothers

Atmospheric black metal from Sheffield, these lads have also generated a considerable amount of hype from just a handful of live shows and their debut single, The Longest Journey Yet. Featuring former members of Ba'al and Fly on Byrd, fly on, they are an amazing opener for Doomlines VI.
