Critically acclaimed art rock musician, singer-songwriter and guitarist GRICE performs songs from his latest album 'One Thousand Birds' - recently featured on BBC Radio 6 Music and described by Tom Robinson as 'gorgeously epic music of exquisite beauty.'
Grice has supported sonic innovator Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) on his recent tour and has shared the stage with Steve Hogarth (Marillion), Banco de Gaia, Public Service Broadcasting, Baka Beyond and more.
'One Thousand Birds' is an iridescent sonic display of feathered strength and vulnerability alchemised into emotionally charged songs that breathe introspection and showcase GRICE's best work to-date.This unique blend of art-rock and electro-acoustic glitch combined with his passionate vocals and heartfelt lyrics, makes for a thoughtful and captivating performance. The show is set in a virtual forest of surround bird-scapes and dark panoramic imagery.
The artist's innovative approach to sound production and his talent for songwriting have rewarded him recognition within progressive art rock circles resulting in successful collaborations with instrumental luminaries such as Raphael Ravenscroft (Pink Floyd, Vangelis/Blade Runner), Richard Barbieri (Japan, P-Tree), Steve Jansen (Japan, Exit North), Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel, Led Zeppelin), B J Cole and more.
Since 2012, GRICE has released 3 albums (Propeller, Alexandrine, One Thousand Birds), 2 EPs, including remixes by Richard Barbieri and 1 Live album (All Angels). His debut album Propeller features legendary saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft and was shortlisted as album of the year in the MPG Awards.
Grice (vocals, guitars) is joined on stage by Duncan Chave (programming) and Al Swainger (bass)
