A vibrant sextet led by DEREK NASH, the irrepressible star saxophonist of the Jools Holland Orchestra, the virtuoso musicians of Picante deliver effervescent entertainment full of the life-affirming rhythms and excitement of authentic Latin Jazz
Derek read electro-acoustics at Salford University, and became a sound engineer at the BBC. He left in 2002 to become a full-time musician and to set up a Recording Studio.
Dominic studied Guitar in Toronto and is now settled in Greenwich playing, wring music and teaching at Guildhall. He has been influenced by Bach, Ellington, Charlie Parker and Paco de Lucia. Neil, from Cornwall studied at the Royal College of Music. He works in both classical music and Jazz. He has his own Latin Trio and has worked with Gypsy Kings.
Andy, player, tutor and composer often works with Derek. As well as Jazz he plays electric bass in rock bands. Marc is a local jazz and Latin drummer and educator who has appeared here with many top musicians. He runs the Essex Easter Jazz School
Satin is a leading Latin percussionist who as toured with Wynton Marsalis
