LUNGBUTTER is the Montréal-based trio of Ky Brooks, Kaity Zozula, and Joni Sadler. The three friends have been mainstays of the vibrant experimental noise/rock community in the city for several years, having put in time as members of numerous bands including Femmaggots, Harsh Reality, Caymans, Nennen, Wreckage With Stick and Nag. Lungbutter's minimal guitar-drums-voice configuration is rooted in a visceral, ascetic punk idiom, refracted variously by free-noise, sludge rock and slowcore. Zozula marshals chaotic motifs of full-spectrum distorto-guitar, occupying a huge tonal space from low-end bass to paint-peeling treble, redolent of blown-out Melvins/Flipper fuzz and equally indebted to the frenetic dissonance of Keiji Haino or Merzbow. Song structures coalesce around guitar riffs of shifting tempos and the backbone of Sadler's muscular, deliberate drums, while Brooks' voice at once mantric and declarative deconstructs one brilliant lyrical theme after another, dancing along the knife-edge of dispassionate acerbic examination and wide-eyed cathartic revelation.

The stunning 50’s bar island takes centre stage in the venue, illuminated, and boasting the kind of drinks offer you’d expect to find; JaguarShoes classic cocktails, locally brewed craft beers and a selection of new and old world wines.
The VICTORIA has a long standing heritage as a music venue, we plan to maintain that under JaguarShoes, but it’s also a great pub and it feels like for a long time that’s been overlooked.
The focus at the Victoria is premium Rum which seemed the obvious choice given the Caribbean influence on the area in recent decades and the fact that rum is not quite so serious a companion as it’s peers… Rum, can just be fun!
The music room at The Victoria has been on the radar of gig goers for more than 3 decades and is one of the best live rooms in East London. Ben Heath, who owned and ran infamous Shoreditch club CATCH (2001-2009), joins the founders of DreamBagsJaguarShoes in recreating this club.
In the Spring of 2015 we re-launched the space independently to the pub, working with the industry’s best promoters and building an exciting a new programme of live music and club nights.
