Voted best vocalist at the British Jazz Awards 2019, Sara was born in Muscat-Oman of Jordanian and Irish parents. She became a professional cellist before turning to vocals, inspired by her father's classic jazz collection and the repertoire of the great American songbook. Her most important influences are Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter.
