terrace cred. presents:
Every virus has a silver corona - a very late addition to their UK tour, as their Italian tour dates have been cancelled.
Following last summer's sell out tour of nine UK shows Peter Case returns this March where he will again join up with Sid Griffin to play a string of dates across the UK and Europe.
Two old L.A. alt-country hepcats (Or legends of Americana as one review put it) on one bill!
Sid Griffin, a godfather of Alt-country / Americana with his electric band The Long Ryders, has long been resident in UK where the acoustic Coal Porters made a huge impact on roots / bluegrass music alongside his broadcasting and writing as a musicology historian.
Sid has famously said,
'Peter Case is one of my five favourite musicians of all-time. Of all-time. He is absolutely astounding as a writer and as a singer.'
Peter Case's reputation stems from the West Coast's The Nerves' groundbreaking work and his leadership of The Plimsouls (the best live act I ever saw, bar none Sid Griffin).
As a singer-songwriter Peter Case is pretty much the USA equivalent to Martin Carthy these days. His work with T-Bone Burnett, Roger McGuinn, Van Dyke Parks, members of Los Lobos, Victoria Williams, andsimply too many big names to rememberhas put Peter on a pedestal he deserves.
As per last year's shows Sid will go on first and Grammy Award nominee Peter Case headlines.
terrace cred. has promoted shows by both these artists and had hoped to snag a tour date last year or this. Very pleased to be able to bring them to the intimate surroundings of The Greys, Brighton at very short notice.
Certainly nothing to sneeze at.
Don't miss 'em.
