terrace cred. presents:
- everyone present at their Greys' date last autumn was entranced. They're back as soon as we could fix it.
Born and raised in Kentucky, The Local Honeys have dedicated themselves to the preservation of old music and the creation of new music. Linda Jean Stokley and Montana Hobbs' debut album, Little Girls Actin' Like Men showcases their ability to tear into hard driving fiddle tunes, sing the high lonesome sound, and tell a toe-tappingly good story. Together in 2015 the pair became the first two female graduates with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Traditional 'Hillbilly' Music.
Montana Hobbs is a Lee Countian by birth. Growing up in the foothills of the Appalachian region and off the beaten path of the Mountain Parkway, Hobbs developed a strong love for music and storytelling at an early age. Spending her childhood among muleskinners and loyal patrons of her family's 'country' store, she never had trouble finding characters or good stories.
Linda Jean grew up in a multi-generational farming family on a beautiful apple orchard in Woodford Co. Kentucky. She comes from a lineage of hardworking men and women. At a young age, her mother noted and nurtured her love of music. So much so, that she decided to pursue music at a level of higher education as well as a career.
