I am delighted to announce my first indoor evening gig since March 14th!
An incredible trio from the big smoke made up of:
Ben Somers, Josephine Davies (Parliamentary Jazz Award winner 2019) & Rob Updegraff. Three musicians with a deep understanding of each other's musical well. They will be performing mostly original music written over lockdown.
Ben Somers has released several albums of original material and has acted as collaborator and sideman to the likes of Gareth Lockrane, Kate Williams, Phil Robson, Christine Tobin, Seal, Eliza Carthy, Dr John, Bruce Molsky, Darol Anger, Dub Colossus & many more. His releases include most recently, ?Poor Stuart? an predominantly original acoustic album fusing contemporary folk, bluegrass & jazz, 2015?s New Orlean?s inspired album Brass Hysteria, two albums made with his Dad under The Steve & Ben Somers Country Band in 2016 & 2019 and last year he released Live At De Melkbus ? a live traditional bluegrass album recorded in The Netherlands.
?Overall I hope that all can hear the honesty that I've put into my writing. It is a direct representation of many of my passions and it?s real people playing real music.? Ben Somers
