Exciting debut of top young jazz vocalists performing together in concert for the first time! LUCA MANNING vocals, CHERISE ADAMS-BURNETT vocals, MATT CARTER piano, SETH TACKABERRY bass & TOM POTTER drums
Luca Manning is an individual ? an exciting new artist with a big voice and a story to tell. A passionate vocalist, songwriter and activist who grew up in Glasgow and moved to London aged 18 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After being named ?Jazz Newcomer of the Year? at the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Luca has had an exciting buzz around him as an emerging artist on the scene. Luca?s debut release ?When The Sun Comes Out? (Oct ?19) features award winning pianist and long term collaborator Fergus McCreadie as well as special guest saxophonist, Laura Macdonald. Following on from the album?s release, Luca has begun working on new original music and collaborating with artists from a diverse range of styles and scenes. Cherise Adams - Burnett - Parlimentary Jazz Award 2020 recipient and Jazz FM Vocalist of the Year 2019 is quickly becoming recognised a fiercely talented vocalist and musician. Cherise released her Debut EP 'Paradise' to critical aclaim at the beginning of 2020. Since graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in late 2017, she has been invited to perform at many of the UK?s most prestigious venues and festivals ranging from the BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall and the Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C to Festival performances including the UKs Love Supreme Jazz Festival .When asked about her approach as an artist and music, Cherise described her goal as...
"To celebrate and draw from all the musical styles that I love without being defined strictly by any particular Genre.... to bring something fresh!" A pub and music bar on the perimeter of Cambridge Circus, at the corner of Romilly Street and Moor Street. First licensed in 1686 as the George, the current building dates from 1898 and the current name from 1986. (One of the old names, Cantons, can be seen being held by one of the gargoyles on the top of the building).
Famous in the 1960s and 70s for folk music and then punk, latterly it has become a jazz venue and home to SpiceJazz club. Up to 5 real ales from the McMullen range on offer and free admission to the main bar but you may have to pay for some music gigs in the basement.
