A work in progress show for Jay Sandhu?s upcoming feature about his experiences with race and culture as well as his transition from adulthood to comedy. For this special show, Jay is bringing a friend or maybe two to mix it up a bit!
Nottingham-based Jay Sandhu is a Maths teacher by day, and by night a comedian, writer and poet. Punchy, informative and witty, his poetry and comedy focuses on race and culture. Jay is also part of the GOBS spoken word collective and has performed at Rooftop Comedy and at The Bradford Fringe. He has also headlined Poetry Scum and has recently had his poetry featured on BBC Radio Nottingham.
At just 15 Ollie was shadowing Boris Johnson, the then Mayor of London, and was one of the youngest people in the UK to be invited to debate in the House of Commons. Some would say he was destined for greatness. Since becoming a comedian, he has continued on this path, winning a total of zero awards, achieving no notable accolades while regularly having technical malfunctions. If you wish to see a well-crafted act with intelligently homed societal observations on the political elite, you will almost certainly be disappointed. If you're looking for a man to nervously play on an instrument consisting of a computer keyboard attached to a modified electric guitar, run through two audio interfaces into a home-made loop pedal further attached to an old laptop, Ollie is the best in the world.
