As World War II rages across the channel, a reclusive Englishwoman opens her heart to a young evacuee after initially resolving to be rid of him. A moving journey of womanhood, love and friendship. Written and directed by Jessica Swale and starring Gemma Arterton, this is a real gem of understated poignancy; about summers as lovely as they are fraught. A tale of love lost and found, told with wit and charm, it maintains an impressive balance between realist and romantic as it slips back and forth in time. Rating: PG Runtime: 99 mins
Covid prevention measures will include the auditorium being set up for social distancing with a one way system. Regarding face coverings we will follow the Scottish government guidance namely - it is mandatory to wear face coverings in cinemas, although there are exemptions for certain people and it is a reasonable excuse to remove a face covering when you need to eat and drink. If you wear a face visor/shield you are asked to also wear a face covering as a visor is not considered to offer sufficient protection. In our auditorium we don?t allow food and drink other than water so please only remove a mask if you are sipping water. If you are coming as separate bubbles please book your tickets separately. For example if you have 4 tickets in one booking we will sit you all together. Please let us know (via uhallpromo@gmail.com) if you have access issues. If necessary we can seat people on the floor area without having to negotiate steps.
