David Harbottle and Freya Jonas are a young folk duo based in Totnes, Devon. They are already causing something of a stir having received plaudits from folk luminaries such as Seth Lakeman, Rod Clements, Declan Sinnott and Jon Boden plus important radio support from BBC Introducing. The duo come together perfectly, bringing their music to life with harmonies that have an astonishing level of depth and passion to them. Each of them with their own golden and honeyed vocals already, combine to form something akin to a religious experience. As their vocals meld themselves together in an inextricable manner you cannot help but be struck by the sheer devotion and love that comes from them. Their music is eclectic and always accompanied with a great story. They combine the rich traditions of folk music with original and contemporary interpretations through a blend of closely intertwined vocal harmonies and compelling and authentic musical arrangements, blending concertina, harmonium, banjo, cittern, stomp box and acoustic guitar, but they blur the lines as they introduce their own subtle and contemporary inflections. Their signature sound has been honed by over six years of performing together and up to 200 gigs a year including folk clubs and festivals up and down the country.
