In a very special programme favourite British fiddlers Christian Garrick and Peter Fisher return to pay homage to two fiddling giants, Yehudi Menuhin and Stephane Grappelli. In the 1970s they embarked on one of the most unlikely yet memorable, globally successful classical-jazz crossover collaborations of all times. Between the years of 1973 and 1985 they recorded a staggering 100 tracks across seven different albums for EMI. The unique and unforgettable partnership of two of the 20th Century?s most celebrated violinists is the major focus for this gala concert.
Their legacy is brilliantly rekindled by two of today's finest fiddlers, Christian Garrick and Peter Fisher, who appositely mirror the original protagonists with their devilishly dazzling skill on four strings, supported by John Horler - piano, Alec Dankworth - double bass & Tom Hooper - drums.
