A regular visitor to these shores over the past 20 years, we are delighted to welcome acclaimed American singer-songwriter Rod Picott to the Welland Valley for an evening of dark tales and wry humour, with topics ranging from family and relationships to cars, work and brushes with death.
With a dozen studio albums already under his belt, Rod is showing no signs of slowing down and work on his next album is well under way; so expect a few new songs alongside selections from his much-loved back catalogue. In addition, Rod is currently writing two books (yes, two) which will soon join his already-published works - one book of short stories and two books of poetry.
Supporting Rod is former-Whybird Luke Tuchscherer (pronounced Tuck-Shearer) from Bedford.
Luke released his solo acoustic record, Carousel, through Clubhouse Records on 4 October 2019, his fourth album in five years. Previous releases include 2018?s Pieces and Shadows EP, 2017?s Always Be True, and his 2014 debut, You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense.
He was named runner up in the Best Male of the Year category in Americana UK's 2018 readers? poll. His second album, 2017?s Always Be True, entered the UK?s Official Country Chart at #17, rising to #15 the following week. It entered the Americana Chart at #25.
[We don't yet know if the restrictions surrounding the pandemic will have an impact on Rod's tour, but we'll keep our fingers crossed for a relaxed and entertaining evening.]
