Rob Kemp: Agenda
I imagine that like me, after eighteen months spent indoors in your pajamas, you are ready to put on your glad rags and head out to see a show about straight male crossdressers.
This is an important subject to me as I am one, and we are still mostly treated like a punchline.
What is meant to be inherently funny about a man dressed like a lady?
I saw a Mario-themed stag-do yesterday. There were multiple Marios, Luigis, and Yoshis, whilst the stag was dressed as Princess Peach.
And I wonder why that was.
It?s a status thing, isn?t it?
Rob Kemp is an Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer nominated, multiple award-winning comedian, usually found doing silly multimedia stuff, but on this occasion would like to tell you a personal story about shame, identity, gender expectations, and being true to yourself.
