Like the album, the film is highly metaphorical. Live action/adult animated surrealism musical psychological drama, symbolic imagery and stunning sounds are all present. The film is mostly driven by the music of Pink Floyd and features little dialogue from the characters. The film is best known for its imagery of mental isolation, drug use, war, fascism and dark or disturbing Gerald Scarfe animated sequences.
