The famous 1984 mockumentary film is one of the single most influential movies of the past forty years. It features the adventures of the fictional English heavy metal band Spinal Tap (who are characterized as ?one of England?s loudest bands) as ?Marty? Di Bergi, a documentary filmmaker follows them on their American tour.
The film satirizes the behaviour and musical pretensions of rock bands. In 2002, the film was deemed ?culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant? by the Library of Congress, and was selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.
