PUNK/POP QUIRKY Chris Sievey ( aka Frank Sidebottom) /Barry Spencer cult hits from 80s

Freshies 2nd Coming 30 SEPTEMBER 2019 After the success of the Being Frank the Chris Sievey Story film in 2019, interest began to increase in the possibiity of some Freshies gigs. Original members Barry Spencer and Rick Sarko began to discuss the possibilities. Barry started to write songs again and with the renewed interest decided to reform The Freshies. They approached successful drummer Chris Connolly, Glitter band veteran, Blue Orchids, nosebleeds and drum tech for Aussie Pink Floyd. The final guitarist spot was filled by Paul Taylor. A life long fan from the age of 14. He renewed old acquaintances after providing his extensive archive of material used in the making of the Being frank film. After a few pints with Rick and Barry after the film premiere they kept in touch. It became clear that as a guitarist in various bands and a fan, he might know the odd tune. As Baz said "I think he knows the words better than me and Rick!".He did and the rest is history. Rehearsals began in earnest during June 2019 in readiness for The Altrincham Festival on 6th July. After a successful gig, Barry has continued to write and the band rehearse their legendary back catalogue plus many new songs.
