LOTTE BETTS-DEAN

Australian mezzo soprano Lotte Betts-Dean is a versatile concert artist who is passionate about curation and programming with a repertoire that encompasses contemporary music, art song, chamber music, early music, opera, oratorio and non-classical collaborations. She has been based in London since 2014 and works internationally, most often in the UK and Australia. Recent highlights include her debut with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sir Andrew Davis (Stravinsky Perséphone) and recitals at major venues in London and Melbourne. Lotte is an Associate Artist with Southbank Sinfonia and is a member of London-based contemporary music group Ensemble x.y. She was also a City Music Foundation Artist for 2017?2019. In 2018 she became a scholarship holder of the Imogen Cooper Music Trust. The following year alongside pianist Joseph Havlat she won the Oxford Lieder Young Artist Platform and also became a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. In 2020 Lotte was selected as a Samling Young Artist.

?Betts-Dean manoeuvred unflustered between registers and vocal modes with an unbroken sense of line and an unmissable, urgent musicality . . . she?s certainly one to watch.?
Flora Williams, The Guardian

DIMITRIS SOUKARAS

Dimitris Soukaras is a classical guitarist based in the UK and is one of the most awarded and promising Greek guitarists of his generation. He graduated at the Ionian University before attending the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) where he completed the Advanced Diploma and the Master of Arts with Distinction and was awarded the DipRAM as well as the LRAM course (license to teach). As a soloist, he has performed and appeared in festivals in Greece and across Europe including solo recitals at King's Place (London), the Musikverein (Vienna), the Cervantes Theatre (London), and the Megaron Concert Hall (Athens). Through his imaginative programmes, featuring new music and arrangements as well as through his chamber music collaborations, he tries to redefine the relationship between the classical guitar and the audience. Dimitris is a D'Addario Artist, a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, winner of the IGF's Young Artists Platform, and a Eurostring Artist 2018/19. As a beneficiary of the Stradivari Trust, he is playing on a 2020 Carsten Kobs guitar.

?I was proud and happy to give the David Russell prize at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2019 to Dimitris. He gave an exceptional performance, showing personality and imagination in his interpretation. I am sure that he has a brilliant future as a concert guitarist." David Russell

?Soukaras always has a provocative point of view, an inquisitive attitude, beautiful and orchestrally varied tone, lots of rhythmic energy, and emotional width - everything I like to hear in a musician, he's got loads of it". Fabio Zanon
