Folds of the Soul: Portraits in Time by Kate Wilson

Contextualised by her background in dance and visual art, Kate Wilson collaborated with two dance artists in integrated processes of improvised dance duet and portraiture in charcoal and oil paint. The resulting installation offers live performance, completed works on canvas and paper, and video works: ?Curves of Time? and ?Interferometer?.

The video works explore the emerging relationships between drawing, painting and performance, inviting the viewer to consider the drawing process in connection with the expression of trajectory in movement.

On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September there will be live performances with dance artist Svenja Bühl in Echo Echo Studio 2. These performances will offer both an opportunity for live engagement and to witness the trans-disciplinary duet process. Each journey by audience through the performance space becomes an additional dialogic aspect of this process.
