We?re welcoming in Spring with an epic programme of Enescu, Respighi, Britten and Shostakovich.
The evening begins with Enescu?s vivid Romanian Rhapsody No.1 before travelling over to Italy for Respighi?s Pines of Rome. We finish off with Britten?s Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge ? the piece which brought Britten to international attention ? and the ever-spectacular Symphony No.6 from Shostakovich.
