Brooks Williams is a Cambridge UK-based, Statesboro, Georgia US-born guitarist, singer and songwriter.
With over 30-plus recordings and 30-plus years of touring, Williams is named one of WUMB-FM Boston's Top 100 All-Time Artists and is listed in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists.
Known for both solo shows and collaborations and no stranger to Maldon, Williams? first arrived here in his long and fruitful songwriting partnership with Boo Hewerdine as 'State Of The Union', a legendary pairing, with 4-star reviews, BBC airplay and even an appearance on The Andrew Marr Show (BBC1). Brooks Williams has enjoyed many happy returns to Maldon since then also bringing his inspiring Guitar Workshop Weekend to this very venue.
Never one to sit still, he?s recently performed and recorded with ace fiddler Aaron Catlow, Northern Sky finding their new album Ghost Owl, "Rich in texture and devoid of a single wasted note." Brooks also does shows from time-to-time with Rab Noakes, Findlay Napier, Sloan Wainwright and Hans Theessink. Another exciting new collaboration with virtuoso banjoist Dan Walsh will see them recording an album in the next couple months and hitting the road shortly thereafter!
With plans to commemorate his celebratory 30 years Anniversary halted last year, tonight's thrill of finally making it happen warrants a very special evening and welcome!
