Emily and Rosy are singer-songwriters from Oxford. They met at a leaving party in a pub next to the river, and as it went dark they shared a bottle of wine and began to sing harmonies. From this first meeting their friendship and musical partnership grew.
They both sing, play guitar and write and arrange their own tightly harmonic songs. The two different vocal parts dance and weave around each other, and it?s never quite clear who is singing the melody or harmony. Or even if it matters.
Having built up a stock of original songs they formed the band Barricane, and in 2020 collaborated with producer and multi-instrumentalist Mac to develop and expand their sound and record their debut album, The Sky and Us.
The result is a stunning journey through a range of musical vibes - from indie-folk, rock, electronica and trip-hop; all tied together with vocal harmonies and themes of existence, perspective, everyday magic and the natural world. The album is available on all major digital platforms and CD
