Alex Hitchcock's fluent, melodic and creative sax style has already made a significant impression on the UK jazz scene with performances at the likes of Love Supreme festival, the Barbican and Royal Albert Halls, as well as international tours and appearances on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. His recordings, including 2019's "All Good Things" as well as his latest 'AuB' on Edition Records (in partnership with Tom Barford) have seen him reach new heights of artistic and critical achievement.
Crowned BBC Young Jazz Musician 2018, Jazz Newcomer of the Year in the 2019 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and Jazz FM?s Breakthrough Act of the Year 2020, saxophonist Xhosa Cole is a talent to be reckoned with. With a searing technique and a thoughtful approach to the music solidly based in the jazz canon, Xhosa is without doubt a rising star.
