Christmas isn?t Christmas without seeing Belshazzar?s Feast at The Oval Tavern!

We?re ecstatic to welcome Pauls Hutchinson and Sartin back to Croydon in December 2021.

You will be treated to a mix of seasonal songs and tunes, plus classical music, pop, music-hall and traditional folk, all topped off with audience participation and lashings of wry humour. Paul Sartin (vocals, oboe, violin and swanee whistle) and Paul Hutchinson (accordion)?s eclectic and eccentric mix of tunes, songs and chat will send you home with an aching face from smiling so much!

As they put together a new album and a scrapbook-style book, the duo are reflecting on their 25 years plus of performing together, and looking ahead to being able to go the road to share the new material with fans. The album and book are due out later this year, so this afternoon might be a good time to buy Christmas presents!

We?ve lost two Christmases thanks for the Coronavirus, and we?re strictly limiting capacity so audience members can sit a safe distance apart. Belshazzar?s Feast have kindly agreed to play two shows for us on December 8th: a matinee in the afternoon and an evening concert.

The content of both concerts will be the same, so all you have to do is to decide whether to come in the afternoon or the evening. Please don?t try to buy tickets for both concerts as this will mean some other people won?t get to see them at all.

This ticket is for the EVENING performance at 8pm.

We ask that you show proof of vaccination in order to gain entry. If you have a medical exemption to vaccination, please bring proof of a negative Covid test, taken within the prior 24 hours instead. We ask that, in consideration of the venue staff and other audience members, you wear a face mask when moving around inside the venue.

As we will clean the chairs and tables after the matinee, please note that we will only open the doors at 6.15pm.

There is a small step at the front door to The Oval Tavern, but the rest of the venue is level. The toilets are downstairs: if you can?t use stairs, please do let us know and we can arrange an alternative sloped access route.

You will soon be able to add a top-up to your ticket to include a meal. We will email you when meal options are available. As the kitchen will be busy, we are sorry, but we won?t be able to take food orders on the day. Please do not contact the venue to discuss this, but order a meal add-on ticket from us here when they become available.

In the unlikely event of our not being able to run the evening concert on December 8th, we will endeavour to reschedule the date and all booked tickets will continue to be valid for that new date.

As we are charged a booking fee by this website, we can?t afford to issue refunds for lots of people out of our own pocket. If there is a good reason why you can?t attend, and you let us know in advance, we will try to reallocate your ticket and then we will be able to refund you without our losing money. Remember, we are not a big organisation, we are just music lovers and we don?t make any profit on these concerts.

Sorry about all this information. Putting concerts on has suddenly got a great deal more complicated. We hope you understand and will bear with us as we try to keep music both live and safe.
