* An Eggflute is a sounding object made from an Egg*
Cafe Oto and Eggflute inventor Ecka Mordecai present a six-week course of Eggflute workshops.
The course will culminate in a performance at Cafe Oto on Thursday 2nd December supporting Mica Levi's ensemble.
Course itinerary 19.00 - 21.00hrs :
Tuesday 26th October: How to make an eggflute
Tuesday 2nd November: Approaches to sounding an Eggflute
Tuesday 9th November: Improvisation and composition for Eggflute
Tuesday 16th November: Score-writing for eggflute
Tuesday 23rd + 30th November: Eggflute Ensemble development
Thursday 2nd December: Performance at Cafe Oto
Ecka Mordecai is particularly influenced by playfulness, minimalism and the fluxus art movement, so the course will likely have this bias.
That said, one aim of the course is to build an eggflute ensemble, so participants are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and inspirations toward the Eggflute.
The only requirement of the course is to attend in person. You do not need any former training or to have a specific identity.
All are welcome, including children if accompanied by a guardian.

The cost of the course covers the basic materials which will be provided. Ecka will not be taking a tuition fee for the course in order to make it slightly more accessible to those with low income.
If you wish to make a donation for tuition, you are welcome to do so once the course begins, though this is absolutely not expected.
