Description

An outdoor autumnal evening of musical rock'n'roll entertainments with Miraculous Mule / The Beatpack / Robin Evans Esq. / The Mandelbrot Shakes

London trio Miraculous Mule deliver a slick and seemingly effortless, hard-blues driven brand of rock 'n' roll, but it's knife-edge stuff. The slick and effortless part comes from the fact that these boys have been cutting their teeth and earning their stripes over the years with a devout immersion in gothic American roots music, before that particular bandwagon arrived in
town again, and again after it left.
Michael J Sheehy has fronted 90s cult band Dream City Film Club and recorded five solo records as well as fronting the short lived Saint Silas Intercession with his brother Patrick McCarthy at his side for the most part. Witnesses to these previous outings and their current incarnation will know that the soul and confrontation they project is real. They can play and
they can sing. The edge that they skirt comes in part from their school of hard knocks north London council-estate, Irish Catholic upbringing. They have known drummer Ian Burns since childhood and all grew up on Saint Silas council estate on Queens Cresent in Kentish Town. For the lifelong friends, music provided a much needed escape from the culture of drugs
and violence that had depressed the area. Their blues and gospel driven rock 'n' roll sound now incorporates new elements of psychedelic soul and stoner/space rock.

"Deep atmospheric grooves meet staggering heaviness" MOJO
"Pure essence of Rock 'n' Roll!" LOUDER THAN WAR
"Lashing voodoo grooves to a delta moan, sounds like it was concocted by some postmodern chain gang" CLASSIC ROCK

The Beatpack are London's prime purveyors of raw brutal 60's garage R'n'B. With touchstones The Pretty Things, Downliners Sect, Kinks et al, The Beatpack formed in Rye, East Sussex in 1987, issued their sole album, 1991?s Could You Walk On Water, then split in 1992. Now re-formed, they have released two new vinyl 45s, I?m Walkin? and Where The Water Runs Deep with are configured line-up. ?We wail harmonicas, bruise maracas, wreak havoc, squall feedback, spill blood, break hearts, have a blast?.

Somewhere between the Mississippi Delta and a film noir thriller, Robin Evans plays the filthiest Blues and Alt Country. Lo-fi vocals, dirty slide, stomping beats and a splash of paint, there's no music like it. A multi-instrumentalist, playing all things Americana, his sound is melancholy and mysterious. His most recent single ?Send Me to the ?Lectric Chair? is a cover of the classic Bessie Smith tune. His previous singles ?Alice? and ?Dust Bowl? are instant cult classics, as is his Demon Swing EP released July 2019. Following in the footsteps of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Colter Wall, and Jimi Hendrix, he's carving a name for himself in the Blues.

"Holy shit, what the f*ck was that? I want to see it again! Wow!"
BOB LOG III

The Mandelbrot Shakes are a raucous blues punk two piece. Songs of love, betrayal and what to do if someone steals your dog. Having played across the UK in the short time they have been going audiences describe them as 'Tear your face off Rock'n' Roll.
