Independent animation is an art form that continues to thrive and develop as a breathtaking medley of styles, materials, techniques and production ? from hand-drawn, paint on glass, collage, sculpture, cut-outs, puppets, abstract to some of the more interesting developments in CGI ? all of which can be seen at this year?s London International Animation Festival over 10 days from 26 November to 5 December.
This programme features LIAF?s annual collection of the hottest music videos from all over the world. Animation is an integral element in many of the best music videos. Producing them also provides a commercially viable way for animators to earn a living and produce work they can be proud of. Here are several of the world?s best and most innovative music videos produced in the last 12 months, providing a visual mash-up of styles, techniques and genres. Music videos have surged in popularity since the rise of portable screens, and filmmakers are increasingly using them as an experimental form with which to test out their artistic ideas.
We will also be announcing the award for Best Music Video at LIAF 2021 selected from the films screened here as judged by our panel of industry specialists.
This is the first of two programmes tonight, the Late Night Bizarre programme screens afterwards at 9:30pm. You can buy tickets for both screenings for just £14/£10 + booking fee.
