London-based Australian pianist Piers Lane has a worldwide reputation as an engaging, searching and highly versatile performer equally at home in solo, chamber and concerto repertoire. Five times soloist at the BBC Proms, Piers Lane's wide-ranging concerto repertoire exceeds 100 works and has led to engagements with many of the world's great orchestras, working recently with conductors like Sir Andrew Davis, Andrew Litton, Vassily Sinaisky, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Brett Dunn. Festival appearances have included Aldeburgh, Seattle, Bard, Bath Mostly Mozart, Bergen, Cheltenham, Como Autumn Music, La Roque d'Antheron, Rockport, Prague Spring, Ruhr Klavierfestival, Schloss vor Husum and the Chopin festivals in Warsaw, Duszniki-Zdroj, Mallorca and Paris.

Highlights of the 2020-2021 season include engagements with the Sydney and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, a Musica Viva national tour of Australia with the Goldner String Quartet, an Australian tour with Maltese tenor Josef Calleja, appearances for various festivals including Bard Music and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, running the 2021 Sydney Online Piano Competition and judging the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, duo performances with violinist Tasmin Little before her retirement in December 2020, and further performances with actress Dame Patricia Routledge.

Our piano is a superb Steinway Model B Grand, maintained by Steinways and tuned before each recital.

After the concert we offer a buffet tea of freshly-made sandwiches, savouries and cakes with your choice of wine, tea, coffee or juice. Our caterers are masked and gloved while preparing and serving food. Disposable plates and cups will be used. Tea tickets are available on the door at £7 or just £5 for students. Cash or cheques only please, no cards. We can cater for up to 60.

There will be no Covid checks, but you are advised to wear facemasks. Some of these will be available on the front desk along with hand sanitizer.
