The Glasgow Phoenix Choir is delighted to be revisiting one of our favourite venues - Moncreiff Church ? for a free concert of Christmas music. Normally all concert proceeds go to Church funds, however, in the spirit of helping others, and only if you can afford it, why not bring a food gift to the concert to be donated to the East Kilbride Foodbank.
The choir is directed by Cameron Murdoch who joined us in 1987 as Accompanist and Depute Conductor and became our conductor and musical director in 2019. He regularly plays harpsichord and piano with various musical ensembles and performs throughout the British Isles. Cameron is also Organist and Choir Master of St. John?s Renfield Church in Glasgow?s West End.
We are pleased to announce that our accompanist in this year?s season of winter concerts will be Gordon Cree. Gordon is a well-known, multi-talented Scottish, entertainer. Born in Ayrshire, he graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), before embarking on a career as a professional performer. We are honoured that he has agreed to join us for this series of concerts.
This concert will be performed adhering to Scottish Government and Church of Scotland social distancing guidelines.
