Barking Tales (the mental health comedy night) is back for our yearly CHRISTMAS SPECIAL; this time at our venue - The UCB (FINALLY WITH ELECTRICITY).
The show will start at 8:00pm but we'll be there from 6:00pm for you to arrive when you want (we'll more than likely put on a little bit of a spread too). Plenty of time for all to catch-up / meet for the first time. No big rush to leave, either, and we'll remind you of the time of the last tram.
It's a small space though, so if we could have as clear an idea as possible of who is coming, that'd be greatly appreciated. Send us a message if possible, so we can set the chairs up.
Masks, sanitiser, hand wash, tests are available should anyone want them and would have thought it went without saying but if you've got ANY COVID symptoms then please keep yourself at home. Previous to COVID everyone was very good at not being all up in other people's space anyway, so continue to practice that too.
We have our own car park, right outside the entrance!
If anyone is nervous of navigating the walking route from Derker tram station for their first try, let us know and we'll arrange to come meet you. There are some route maps on UCB page too.
December 1st we have -
*Jonathan Mayor
Jonathan Mayor sets the stage alight with his razor sharp audience banter and stunning charisma. But don't be fooled by the glitter and glamour, underneath lies an intelligent line of socio-political humour, from a unique and fascinating perspective, He will reduce any audience to hysterics whether they are erudite, Radio 4 listeners or the drunkest Friday night crowd.
He is one of Sarah Millican's go-to hosts / support acts - MC'ing her new material nights Sarah Millican and Friends and warm-up man for her television series "The Sarah Millican Television Show"
He has also appeared regularly for Manchester Pride (in particular he hosts the Manchester Pride Candlelight AIDS Vigil every year - a dramatic departure from his comedy work) Europride, Glasgay Arts Festival, Homotopia Arts Festival, Queer Up North and Manchester/Leicester Comedy Festivals. He also hosts the annual Great British Bear Bash, Manchester Pride Games Dinner, has hosted a number of sporting events at Manchester Pride Games and the Gay Rugby World Cup (the Bingham Cup).

It's free entry, donations after if you can afford it (everything made goes back into the night / UCB.)
There will be a well stocked tuck shop with plenty of snacks and drinks, including tea and coffee.
