Starts and ends at Hampstead Heath Station (Overground line)
Details
Join us for a wonderful 3.3 mile (5km) sometimes hilly, walk from Hampstead Heath Station to the famous Hampstead Heath that has amazing views over London.
Then walk the hidden cobbled lanes, past quaint churches and beautiful alleyways in one of the most charming areas of London.

Hampstead Heath
A large, ancient London heathnotable for its excellent views of the London skyline.
The heath first entered the history books in 986 when Ethelred the Unready granted one of his servants hides of land at "Hemstede". This same land recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as held by the monastery of at Westminster Abbey, and by then is known as the "Manor of Hampstead".

The growth of Hampstead is generally traced back to the 17th century. Trustees of the Well started advertising the medicinal qualities of the chalybeate waters (water impregnated with iron) in 1700 and then the induction of the Railway in the 1860s.

Filled with boutiques, art supplies, specialty shops like Venchi, the Italian ice cream and chocolatier and the popular teen brand Brandy Melville have local outlets. Parisian ladies fashion, Zadig & Voltaire, Maje, and Ba&sh, also have local boutiques.

Please note: Some events, being a large attended meetup group it will be an organised walk only, but members are very welcome to organise their own get-togethers after the event.
You are required to be fit, healthy, appropriate footwear & clothing, responsible for meeting at the correct location and your own safety. Please bring water and some snacks.
The organiser is not responsible for any circumstances that may affect the group, such as personal accidents, rail delays, cancellations, engineering works, heavy traffic, tours affected, weather, walk paths or routes closed, postcodes for car parks or for when we arrive back at the station, or anything else not mentioned!
