The Volunteered - Melodic indie a la Americana- 'We sound a bit like Built To Spill, Guided By Voices, Modest Mouse, Belle and Sebastian...'- yes they do! Certainly got an ear for a melody over the lofi grunge crunch and ramalama...?
Broken Hertz - slippery slacker rock pop in an American style, rocking lofi grunge vibes... nice light and shade and there's accessible melody propelling the alterno grind along sweetly.
Thee Mighty St Pancras - Twangy guitars and lots of reverb takes you into the zone of a spooky Joe Meek offcut, although they say they are a punk rock band...Sure enuff punknessness hits, but I'm getting a mid '60s Brit beat vibe too- The Birds, Yardbirds, Downliners Sect etc... featuring Peter Wooding from London Dirthole and Hercules II ...nice eery, wispy vocal. Garage blues punk. Grand?
Jowl - frantic drums, scraping guitar, keening impassioned vocals that sound a tad like James Dean Bradfield, not that there's anything remotely Manics about the music- experimental out there pop (there is a pop sensibility) that has a bit of XTC maybe, in fact they remind me of Long Fin Killie. Perhaps you could compare them to Black Country New Road. The singer's called James Coburn, nice.
