Description

Alex Hitchcock is one of the brightest young saxophonists on the UK jazz scene.

He has performed throughout Europe, as well as the Love Supreme Festival, Glastonbury, the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and Ronnie Scott's. In 2018 he won the Peter Whittingham Award, which led to a 2019 recording and tour featuring Jazz FM Vocalist of the Year Cherise Adams-Burnett. In the same year he was named as "one to watch" by Jazzwise magazine.

At Off the Rails he is joined by the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year 2020, the pianist Deschanel Gordon, plus Will Sach on bass and Shane Forbes on drums.
