An evening with Mike Mountford celebrating 50 years in the entertainment industry.

Starting in around 1960-1961 when a local children's entertainer called 'Uncle' Jack Howe was the first person to get Mike up on on stage, Mike knew from a very young age with his absolute passion for The Beatles that he wanted to be a performer....

So he joined forces with the Pullen brothers and then later school band Stoney Youth with Steve Newland.

The early 80's saw Mike as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist with popular local band "The Fourbeats" with his brother John on drums, Brian Powell on lead guitar and Gary Jerram on bass guitar.

In the late 80's and early 90's he was one of the main Karaoke hosts on Brighton's very own Palace pier and during this time also was resident DJ in a few Hove venues including what was Alfresco's and also The Langfords Hotel, The Courtlands Hotel and the Imperial Hotel.

After a stint with the Parlophones (50s & 60s band) Mike knew it was time to do what he really wanted to do...start a Beatles tribute band... and so, THE VOX BEATLES were born... now highly successful and established, playing to audiences worldwide and still continuing to do so.

Along with The Vox Beatles, Mike and John are also key members of The Mysterons along with Rob Hopkins and Paul Dodd playing at more local venues and covering the likes of The Shadows, Queen, Buddy Holly and many more....

In between all that... Mike has performed in various duo's along the years and has some new projects lined up... to be announced soon !

So come along and enjoy and evening of music and memories and be entertained by Mike and friends including The Vox Beatles, The Mysterons and the fabulous Dale Harris (acoustic guitar) along with other acts TBC and yes.... a Raffle ! Everybody secretly loves a raffle !

The venue TS Nautilus is where it all started to the day on 10th December 1971 where Mike enjoyed his first serious performance as a 15 year old !!
