Two days of investigation, imagination and discovery for children aged 6 to 12yrs who love being creative and learning through fun activities. Led by the experienced cultural services learning team, at Kids? Club children will explore the past, experience the museum and gallery and make really cool things inspired by the City?s arts and heritage collections.
Mon 21st ? Heroes and villains sculpture day
From the Egyptians to the Australian outback, we?re going to learn about heroes and villains from the past and then create our own quirky characters. We will be making an amazing wire figure, designing our own back pack and creating secret hideaway boxes for our treasures.
Tues 22nd ? Messy History
History can be gruesome! Step back in time to take part in loads of fun activities, games and crafts discovering the messy side of the past! Mummify an orange, concoct a plague cure, create a working rocket? and more! Please bring an empty 2 litre bottle. Some of these activities will be taking place in the Millvina Dean memorial garden outside the museum, so dress for the weather.
This workshop is based at SeaCity and the City Art Gallery. We will move between venues. Please drop off and pick up from the SeaCity main entrance and provide snacks, lunch and a drink. A registration form must be completed prior to arrival. PLEASE EMAIL ASAP after booking to arrange for a form to be sent to you. museums.education@southampton.gov.uk
