Forty-eight years after their original demise Mott The Hoople is still a band that?s loved, celebrated and cherished by its many fans ? and rightly so. WOTT THE HOOPLE is a fitting tribute to the music of Ian Hunter, Mick Ralphs and the rest of the gang. Not trying to be lookalikes, they prefer to concentrate on the Mott sound and deliver energised live performances to remember. The band was put together by guitarist Simon Savage at the behest of Luther Grosvenor (who, of course, went by the gloriously rock?n?roll pseudonym of Ariel Bender during his time in MTH) to play at the 2016 Mott The Hoople Fan Convention and they have continued to perform ever since. Mott The Hoople?s first guitarist, Mick Ralphs, and his replacement, Ariel Bender were at opposite ends of the spectrum in their style of guitar playing and in their on-stage personality but both the modest, unassuming, technically brilliant Ralphs and the explosively bonkers Bender were an essential part of Mott The Hoople?s history. Covering both eras of the band's story, blissfully stuck in a parallel universe somewhere between 1970 and 1974, WOTT THE HOOPLE capture the vibe of early-70s Mott brilliantly. It?s great to hear all the classic Mott numbers performed so well. A must for Classic Rock fans!
