With Philip Rambow on guitar, Martin Belmont on guitars will be joined by Clare Kenny on bass, they will be featuring songs from Philip's current album ?Canadiana?.
Arriving in London from Toronto in the early 70s, Philip Rambow found himself hitting the thriving pub rock circuit with The Winkies. Recruited to back Brian Eno on recordings and his solo tour, the band signed to Chrysalis Records. Rambow went on to work with Mick Ronson before delivering two solo albums for EMI and racking up Radio 1. A songwriter of some repute, he?s authored hits for Kirsty MacColl, Nick Gilder & Ellen Foley. His 2020 album ?Canadiana? was released to critical acclaim and was followed by a career-highlights collection ?The Rebel Kind: Anthology 1972-2020?.
Martin Belmont is a legend. Starting in the Pub Rock era with Ducks Deluxe he then became a stalwart with Graham Parker and the Rumour. A whole life making music with legends: ElvisCostello, Nick Lowe and Johnny Cash. Clare Kenny is a musician who was a bassist for a number of groups from the 1980s to the present day, including: Amazulu, Shakespears
Sister, Orange Juice, Indigo Girls, Roddy Frame, and too many more to mention...
Milton Hide (aka Jim and Josie Tipler) come from East Sussex and live at the foot of the famous Long Man of Wilmington hill figure. The duo weave eloquent, well-crafted songs and stories ? Jim?s guitar and Josie?s pure vocal delivery blending perfectly.
Arrangements also include percussion, with the clarinet providing a third voice. Their music has been described as ?reminiscent of the Moody Blues?, ?a touch of Fleetwood Mac? and ?vintage Steeleye?.
