City of London Symphonic Winds return under the baton of Alan Duguid for their first performance for two years, with a fantastic programme of music on the theme of 'Celebrations and Tributes'. The repertoire will include 'Venetian Spells' (Ellerby), 'Sketches on a Tudor Psalm' (Fisher Tull), 'Stephenson's Rocket' (Nigel Hess) and a tribute to the fallen soliders of the D-Day landings (Camphouse). The programme is completed by the fantasia-like 'Suite Dreams' (Bryant) and the joyous 'Celebrations' (Zdechlik), which pay tribute respectively to Holst's famous First Suite in E flat and Shostakovich's Festive Overture.
