A jazz octet of top Sussex based Jazz musicians, reproducing and reinterpreting the music of Miles Davis' seminal album ?Birth Of The Cool?. Featuring its unusual instrumentation, (French horn, Tuba plus a variety of jazz instrumentation) this music is rarely, if ever heard live.
Evans? innovative arrangements were influenced by classical music and the recordings marked a major development in post-bebop jazz and a milestone for the beginnings of ?Cool? AKA ?West-Coast? jazz.
