Yao Bobby & Simon Grab
Heat-seeking hybrids of West African rap, dancehall and noise. An intense, improvised soundbattle between energetic, politically-charged rhymes fired into a soundworld of raw electronic bass pulsations produced on analog/no input feedback electronics. On tour for the release of debut album WUM out on LavaLava Records, Bristol UK. The duo will be accompanied by Dhangsha, electronic musician and co-founder of Asian Dub Foundation.
Since the 1990s, Yao Bobby has been making his mark as an activist in African rap and has participated in building up a Pan-African hip hop movement. He lives in Agbodrafo Togo, where he opened up a small cultural centre for music and arts, with exhibitions, concerts and community works. Simon Grab has been on the experimental electronic music path since early Atari times, and his recent musical hyperactivity includes a crazy collaboration with Duma (Kenya, Nyege Nyege), Deaf Kids (Brasil) and Petbrick (UK, Brasil).

Dhangsha
Cyclical synthesis and unstable, disintegrating beats depicting the world in a state of flux. Urgent bass pulsations underpin violent fluctuations in the upper atmosphere, modulating frequencies hijacked from techno. Exploring minimalism, repetition and fragmentation in sound to demonstrate the proximity of noise to dance music and its potential for conveying political sentiment. The name ?Dhangsha? is from Bengali for ?destruction?, relating not only to a sonic approach, but to a deconstruction of ideas that do not have the best interests of people or communities at heart.
Aniruddha is better known as ?Dr. Das?, bassist and co-founder of Asian Dub Foundation, with over 30 years of exploring experimental rhythm and noise.

Manipulated pedal feedback and dubby beatwork is live edited and disassembled with HIGH ENERGY HIGH PERFORMANCE NO ANGST atonal celebration of office life banality or something or other.
