Introduced by Imogen Cooper
Mishka Rushdie Momen started playing the piano at four, was enrolled in the Purcell School at six (three years earlier than normal), did her A-levels at 15 and won a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama immediately afterwards. She was already winning prizes in international piano competitions and in 2015 became one of the first young pianists to be awarded an Imogen Cooper Music Trust scholarship. Mishka is now recognised as one of the most thoughtful and sensitive of British pianists. She won critical acclaim during lockdown for a series of streamed Wigmore Hall concerts with the distinguished cellist Steven Isserlis. Last year Mishka was The Times Arts critics? classical music nominee for their 2021 Breakthrough Award given by Sky Arts and the South Bank Show.
