Southern Beauty
Southern Beauty is a jazz trio consisting of three amazingly talented artists on vocals, piano, guitar and ukulele. With their exciting new approach, Southern Beauty have reimagined many famous Beautiful South songs with a jazz, bossa and avant garde twist as well as delivering captivating renditions of classic jazz standards.

Hollie Cassar
Originally from Malta, Hollie began playing the piano when she was just 5 years old. A classically trained pianist, she has an eclectic taste in music, and also plays guitar, saxophone, drums, double bass, clarinet, accordion and ukulele.

As a songwriter, Hollie's music has been compared to the likes of Carole King, Kate Nash, Coldplay, and Regina Spektor. She combines old-school, catchy melodies with honest lyrics, adding a touch of her own unique quirkiness. Her songs coupled with her warm voice, resonate with listeners of all ages

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Hollie is also an established actress, singer and dancer, having performed in London's West End and across the UK in various hit musicals including West Side Story, Crazy for You and On Your Feet!

She is currently performing as part of the Prologue Company in the West End Revival of Cabaret, starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley, alongside being Associate Musical Director for the West End production of The Choir of Man.

She has also written the book, music and lyrics of a new musical, which is currently in development

Description

A pub and music bar on the perimeter of Cambridge Circus, at the corner of Romilly Street and Moor Street. First licensed in 1686 as the George, the current building dates from 1898 and the current name from 1986. (One of the old names, Cantons, can be seen being held by one of the gargoyles on the top of the building).

Famous in the 1960s and 70s for folk music and then punk, latterly it has become a jazz venue and home to SpiceJazz club. Up to 5 real ales from the McMullen range on offer and free admission to the main bar but you may have to pay for some music gigs in the basement.

Upstairs at the Spice is for drinks, eats and good times. Enjoy Great British classics with special seasonal dishes prepared daily by our chefs.
