The Humdrum Express album launch with special guests Thee Dagger Debs
To celebrate the release of Forward Defensive - the seventh Humdrum Express album - a fantastic launch show will take place on Saturday 18th June at Claptrap the Venue in Stourbridge. The evening will not only feature a glorious Humdrum full band headline set, but they will also be joined by the wonderful Thee Dagger Debs who will be bringing a bit of Junk Shop Glam to the party as the evening?s very special guests. This is a rare Midlands show for them and not to be missed!

Regularly championed by BBC 6 Music and famed for withering critique, The Humdrum Express breezily deliver offbeat observation, social commentary and sharp wit; fused with familiar cultural references, surreal characters and subtle puns. Full band shows are an exhilarating blend of indie clatter, Oxfam mod and joyful, sardonic cheer.

Thee Dagger Debs are a power trio brought together by their love of 60s garage, British R?n?B, pub rock, glam and proto-punk. And beer.
With attitude, sass, hooks and riffs galore, they?ve been thrilling audiences for a number of years - both in the UK and across Europe - with their storming live performances.
Advance tickets are priced at £8 with an early booking highly recommended.

We really really like music. We like putting on music events. We also really really like really nice people so we opened an independent venue to give a home to good live music and generally lovely folk. We span many genres. All of them in fact - at least we’re trying to - yes, even Jazz!
We’re friendly, cosy, alternative and intimate. We are a music venue for musicians.
We also do poetry nights, quizzes...you get the gist.
We much prefer original bands. We don’t mind a few covers thrown in but unless you’re offering something quite bonkers & original then it’s generally a no for covers.
Claptrap is 1st floor venue & bar, catering for live music, entertainment, theatre, poetry, quizzes & jazz. (Occasionally hired for private functions).
Not your usual venue - it has Chesterfield sofas, wingback chairs and frilly lampshades aplenty!
An extensive range of bottled and canned craft beers are available incl. Kona, Mongozo, Beavertown, Dark Arts, Siren, Wild Beer Co.
On draught - Freedom 4 Lager, Freedom Pale Ale, Thatchers Old Rascal Cider.
