As a child, Wouter received his first piano lessons at the Conservatory of Mechelen, in the Flemish region of Belgium, and later at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp where he graduated in 2018 magna cum laude. From 2018 to 2020 he studied for his post-graduate degree with Ian Fountain at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Apart from his prize-winning career as a solo pianist, Wouter is also an active chamber musician and founding member of the Trio Aries and the Werther Piano Quartet, both of which have won numerous awards on the European circuit, including the prestigious Supernova Chamber Music competition in 2020.
