Description

terrace cred. with Scott Warman presents:
a very welcome return, after an enforced delay. From East Nashville, Amelia White continues to build on her loyal following and critical accolades at home in the US and in Europe. We're delighted to welcome her back to The Greys again on her 2022 European tour, following a great showcase performance during the AMAUK Conference and Awards in january 2020, before things intervened.
Amelia has a special affinity here at The Greys, since our very own local double-bass player, Scott Warman (Porchlight Smoker / The Long Haul), has become a fixture in her touring band, in the UK, Europe and out of Nashville.

Amelia White's albums have received enormous praise - her last album 'Home Sweet Hotel' was listed as one of the top-ten Americana albums by the Daily Telegraph, and the title track from new album 'Rhythm of the Rain' has just been named as one of the top-ten Americana/Country songs by ROLLING STONE.

'If there were an East Nashville Music Hall of Fame, Amelia White would already be in it. The now-famous scene was in its formative days when White arrived from Boston in the early 2000s and became a fixture at the Family Wash. She's been a leading light in America's most musical zip code ever since, while developing a reputation in the rest of the US and Europe as a first-rate songwriter. She helped define and refine the core folk-rock sound of Americana, yet her band's energetic pulse never outshines her carefully wrought lyrics. She's a poet who's been compared to more famous songwriters for years - now it would be more appropriate to use her as the benchmark.

'As a songwriter, I feel obliged to tell the stories that are coming through in the air to me in my world whether it's personal or political or both. That can be hard,' White says. 'The antenna is always on. Man, you've got to feel a lot. It's a heavy load sometimes.'
CRAIG HAVIGHURST, MUSIC CITY ROOTS

'Every choice White makes on Rhythm of the Rain is in service of the song, the entire song, no matter into what uncomfortable territory it might take her... It further cements her legacy as an East Nashville treasure worth following down any rabbit trail she chooses to explore' NO DEPRESSION
