This May 28th we are proud to welcome two Awesome bands to the Barn for their Cheltenham Debuts! Canterbury's 'The Alchemy' & Hertfordshire's 'Lyoness' as they embark on their "Idle Ghosts Tour", bringing some of the UK's finest Alt-Rock vibes through Cheltenham! Support TBC.

THE ALCHEMY
The Alchemy are a thrilling new British rock band, crafting catchy and anthemic songs from a subconscious blend of the Rock, Indie and Electronic musical landscape they grew up in. Formed in Canterbury in 2015, the quartet released their debut EP in April 2016. 'Modern Age' was well received by UK Independent press, radio and music TV and laid the foundations for the band's sound: heavy riffs intertwined with undeniable choruses.

During a particularly rapturous performance at the Camden Assembly in 2016, the band caught the eye and ear of I Am Giant bassist Paul Matthews. A London base producer with a string of gold and platinum selling records in New Zealand to his credit, Matthews saw something special in The Alchemy. Recording began in May 2017 with Matthews at the helm as producer. fast forward to September 2018, The Alchemy had their debut album 'Chemical Daydream'.

The first single from the album 'Give Me The Sky' was released in November 2018 receiving praise straight away from BBC introducing, Kerrang! & Scuzz TV. The Alchemy were then signed by US record label Standby Records and proceeded to release the rest of the album by releasing by releasing the next successful singles 'Intertwined' and 'Diamond Bones' which were followed by the album itself in November 2019.

The Alchemy then took the live industry by storm, securing support slots with the likes of Mallory Knox, I Am Giant and The Intersphere. These performances proved that The Alchemy could hold their own on the larger stage.

Now in 2021, The Alchemy are touring to support the release of their brand new album 'Idle Ghosts' which was is set for release May 18th 2022. Written during the COVID-19 lockdowns, this is an album with inspiration like no other!

LYONESS
Lyoness is a 3-piece Alternative-Rock band from Hertfordshire. The band is made up of Steph Carter (Gallows, The Ghost Riders in the Sky), Gigi Gold (The Ghost Riders in the Sky) and Ali Brown. The band blend huge groove riffs, juxtaposition with sophisticated melodies and emotive delivery.

Lyoness returns with "The Silence", the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming EP entitled 'Fool's Gold' which is due out 2022. The track, which is available everywhere, encapsulates raw energy, groove and slick melodies and the punk-rock and sensual intensity of front woman Gigi Gold.

Gigi states: "The Silence is about complacency complicity, and the choice to be a weapon or a tool".

Last year, in the midst of COVID restrictions, Lyoness released 3 consecutive singles 'Devil's Dance', 'Throne', and 'Vulture & The Snake'. Each single evolved and saw the band grow and mature into a unique force of nature. Lyoness have been praised and championed by BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio amongst many others, as well as earning high preaise rom contemporary taste-makers such as 'Punk Press', 'V13' and 'Get in Her Ears'.
