East Lonesome Drifters

Well it?s been a while but we are thrilled that the East Lonesome Drifters will once again play at the Country Soul. ELD are a UK country & western outfit that pay homage to traditional honky tonk, western swing and the Bakersfield sound. Fronted by Pennsylvanian Crispy Cowboy the band play a mix of classic covers and quality original material. Currently working on the follow up to their very fine self-penned ?A Satisfied Mind? EP, the band are really looking forward to hitting the stage with all the energy and edge of a classic electric country outfit. Expect to hear lovely three part harmonies, swirling pedal steel from Jonathan Shacklock, acoustic guitar strummin? & country kick drummin? from Ravi Panesar, Fender Telecaster tones from David Coleman, bar room piano from Tim Pearson and electric bass from Josh DeMita. Don?t miss them.

The Keller-Tones

We are delighted that The Keller-Tones will be retuning to the Country Soul in June. A mysterious outfit for sure, but this is how we heard it??A certain Mr Andy Ames was drifting helplessly with his beloved guitar over Hamburg in a hot air balloon, when his ?pickelhaube? hat accidentally punctured it. Anticipating imminent disaster Andy threw his guitar, amp and himself overboard all coming down through the roof of a Moroccan honky tonk where Lynette Morgan was performing a belly dance and Gary Boller was whittling a sideways bass from a beer stained plank. In order to placate the infuriated proprietor the musical trio performed an impromptu set of Americana & British rock ?n?roll. Thus The Keller-Tones were born. Come and see this dynamic trio with their amazing beat and rock ?n? roll vibe.

Drew Morrison and the Darkwood

The house band are looking forward to treading the CSS boards once again. The Darkwood are Nick Steyn (drums), Ian Gant (guitar), George London (bass & singing) and songwriter Drew Morrison (guitar and singing). The band's central vision of a music touched by influences ranging from Alt Country, Pop & Rock N' Roll all tinged with 'golden chording' has remained focussed and realised itself into a unique sound. Expect to hear flashes of late 1960s Velvets, Jimmy Webb-esque wordplay and electrical guitar playing that has one foot in the 1950s and the other very much in the now.
